Just Some Random Designs
Sometimes a designer just wants to design, but doesn't have an assignment, so they make something for themselves instead. For exercise or for fun.
Well, here you can see when this was the case for me!
Den Bosch / Nijmegen Through My Eyes
This was the first project we were given at Avans. The assignment was to show your personal vision of Den Bosch through a set of posters.
As my first renditions weren't enough to provide me with a passing grade I had to do it thrice. Eventually this resulted in Nijmegen being the subject of my posters instead of Den Bosch because of the COVID-19 restrictions.
As much I disliked having to begin anew twice, I did learn a lot from it. Mainly that you have to try loads of different things to find that hidden gem. (Which, in my opinion, were Posters 1 & 2 from Opportunity 3, Selection 1)
Opportunity 1 = Den Bosch, the city.
Opportunity 2 = Den Bosch, Onderwijsboulevard.
Opportunity 3 = Nijmegen.
Fun fact 1: Opportunity 1 was actually supposed to say 'Bosch' instead of 'Bos', so it'd have a funny play on words. But thanks to auto-correct it ended up the way it did.
Fun fact 2: Opportunity 3, Selection 2 and 3 have a verse of Nijmegen's anthem as their title.
Let's Make
Our task was to develop a dynamic visual identity for TEDxDelft, using Let's Make as an ungoing theme. Our designs had to be based on a visual identity we'd created for ourselves. My visual identity was Overlays.
Eventually you'd end up with two posters, a mock-up of a website and one or more different products showcasing your design.
